Yorkshire market organiser celebrates female business owners for International Women’s Day

A Yorkshire artisan market organiser has honoured the female business owners who contribute to its success to mark International Women's Day 2025.

Little Bird Made is celebrating the amazing female business owners, makers, bakers, creators, artists, crafters and producers who trade and support the artisan traders at Little Bird markets. Without the vision and drive of its makers, creators and supporters, Little Bird Made could not support small businesses.

The market has operated for nearly seven years, and with founder Jackie Crozier’s knowledge and skills, it has grown from its first market in Ripon in 2018 to more than 10 monthly markets and larger-scale seasonal events and pop-up markets. Little Bird Made has landed nominations for two awards at the upcoming Yorkshire Choice Awards – 'Independent Business of the Year' and Jackie for 'Business Woman of the Year'.

Jackie Crozier, Managing Director of the award winning Little Bird Made, said: "We are fortunate to work with so many inspirational women every week at our markets, who are following their dreams and overcome any obstacles put in their way to ensure their businesses are a success. I was lucky enough to grow up in a family of strong, fearless women.

"Unfortunately, my closest cheerleaders have since passed on, but their legacy lives on through me. The best piece of advice I was given was to have the courage to live a life true to yourself, not the life others expect of you.

She continues, "If you have enough passion and drive for what you want to do, you will get there, and that's what all our amazing traders are doing each and every day."

Jackie is an avid supporter of International Women's Day, she, herself is also an inspiration to the women around, being an Independent councillor and Deputy Mayor in Ripon. From May 2025 she will become Mayor of Ripon for 2025/2026.
