Ripon resident, Councillor and the founder and driving force behind Little Bird Made artisan markets Jackie Crozier is gearing up with her staff and traders for a special market to celebrate Little Bird’s 5 th Birthday in the towns Market Place this Sunday.
Jackie was born and bred in Ripon, with her parents managing The Fleece Pub for many years, before she went off to explore the world in the events industry. She returned in 2018 with a wealth of knowledge and experience and set up Little Bird Made. The first artisan market took place in the grounds of the Magdalen Pub. From then the businesses has grown its own wings and flown across the Yorkshire area. They operate markets from Richmond in the North down to Harrogate, with 9 regular monthly markets and a wide variety of pop-up locations. They also work in partnership with Harewood House to deliver a spectacular Winter Artisan Market in the grounds. This year the event will take place over 5 days from 8 th – 12 th November, with lots of opportunities to purchase unique Christmas gifts and produce.
Little Bird has always stayed true its ethos of supporting the small businesses that trade with them to grow and develop. Hence the name Little Bird, where it is hoped that traders will grow their businesses and one day fly the nest and move onto bigger and better opportunities. Another ethos is to support the local high street and by hosting the markets in central locations in traditional market places, they encourage all visitors to also visit the local high street facilities and tourist attractions. Little Bird works with a number of partners to provide the best outdoor shopping experiences in the best locations throughout the Yorkshire area.
“I can believe the journey Little Bird has been on over the past 5 years and I am so happy to be celebrating in my hometown this weekend with lots of friends and traders, some of which have been with us since the start. There have been a few restrictions along the way, but we have always managed to continue to grow, and I can’t wait to see what the next 5 years will bring and where all our Little Bird markets and traders will be” Jackie Crozier, Managing Director, Little Bird Made.
